1. A ceiling fan comprising:
a body defining a plenum with an inlet opening and an outlet opening;
an impeller having a set of blades located within the plenum;
a primary air flow path passing through the plenum from the inlet opening to the outlet opening;
a secondary air flow path extending from the inlet opening to the outlet opening and bypassing the set of blades;
a deflector moveable between a first position, where air from the primary air flow path is directed downwardly, and a second position, where the air from the primary air flow path is directed radially, without closing the secondary air flow path in either of the first position or the second position; and
a set of guide vanes in the primary air flow path downstream of the impeller, and the set of guide vanes forming a non-zero angled relative to the horizontal, the non-zero angle being between 0 and −30 degrees.
