1. A method comprising:
obtaining a first 2D image of a patient's teeth from a mobile device;
obtaining an arch model representing a simulated outcome for the patient's teeth, wherein the simulated outcome corresponds to a predicted arrangement of the patient's teeth after an orthodontic treatment;
generating a parametric model corresponding to the patient's teeth, wherein the parametric model is generated at least in part by matching the patient's teeth in the first 2D image to corresponding teeth in the arch model;
determining a target position for the patient's teeth corresponding to the simulated outcome, based on a position of the matched corresponding teeth in the arch model; and
generating a second 2D image depicting the patient's teeth in the target position corresponding to the simulated outcome, based on a rendering of the parametric model with the patient's teeth in the target position.
