1. A surgical system, comprising:
an end effector, comprising:
an ultrasonic blade;
a clamp arm pivotable relative to the ultrasonic blade to capture tissue therebetween; and
a flexible circuit mounted to the clamp arm, wherein the flexible circuit defines a plurality of zones on the clamp arm, wherein the flexible circuit comprises:
a plurality of longitudinally spaced electrodes positioned on an outer portion of the flexible circuit to contact the tissue; and
a plurality of sensors, wherein each zone of the plurality of zones comprises at least one sensor of the plurality of sensors, wherein the plurality of sensors are positioned intermediate the outer portion and the clamp arm; and
a control circuit operably coupled to the flexible circuit, wherein the control circuit is configured to:
sense a tissue parameter of the tissue captured between the clamp arm and the ultrasonic blade; and
adjust a control parameter of the surgical system based on the tissue parameter from a first non-zero level to a second non-zero level during a surgical procedure.
