A liquid concentrate comprising dissolved prohexadione in a ionic liquid, the ionic liquid comprising an organic base and a strong acid, wherein the organic base is an amine, imine, amide, imide or urea, and wherein the strong acid has a pKa of below 4 and is able to form a ionic liquid with the organic base.
