1. A method at a smart device for controlling a remote device comprising:
capturing, via a biometric capture device of the smart device associated with a user, biometric data associated with the user;
authorizing, via a processor of the smart device, the user is to interact with the smart device based at least in part on the biometric data associated with the user;
determining, via the processor and in response to the authorization of the user to interact with the smart device, additional user data, wherein the additional user data indicates access attributes associated with the user for controlling the remote device;
receiving, via a short-range transceiver of the smart device, an authentication request from a reader device associated with the remote device;
outputting, to the reader device and via the short-range transceiver of the smart device, an authorization token in response to the authentication request and based at least in part on the authorization of the user to interact with the smart device and the additional user data meeting a set of access criteria associated with the remote device, wherein the authorization token indicates that the user is authorized to communicate with the remote device;
detecting, via a physical sensor of the smart device, a plurality of physical perturbations in response to physical actions of the user;
determining, via the processor of the smart device, a requested action for the remote device in response to the plurality of physical perturbations and based at least in part on the additional user data; and
outputting, to the reader device and via the short-range transceiver of the smart device, a request for the remote device to perform the requested action.
