1. A network configured for Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), comprising:
an end station operable to transmit and receive TSN messages on the network;
a network infrastructure device connected to the end station and operable to send and receive TSN messages to and from the end station, respectively; and
a Centralized User Configurator (CUC) connected to the end station and operable to configure the end station for TSN, the CUC further operable to instruct the end station to initiate time data capture;
wherein the end station is further operable to generate, in response to being instructed by the CUC to initiate time data capture, a predetermined number of frames at a preselected interconnection layer and transmit the frames to the CUC, the end station inserting current network time data in each frame; and
wherein the CUC is further operable to determine how much transmission jitter and/or latency is present using the current network time data in the frames.
