1. A method comprising:
applying an event message based on a mutation operation at a knowledge base host to a query-writing framework, and parsing, by the query-writing framework, a topical schema applied to a starting node of the event message to output a first selective query;
querying the knowledge base host using the first selective query to traverse from the starting node, traversal being constrained by at least a node type list and an edge type list of the topical schema; and
publishing a root node event message comprising a root node returned from the first selective query.
