10 Claims

1. An article, or a pellet made from a pre-process mixture comprising:

a. at least one hydrocolloid,

b. at least one plasticizer,

c. at least one filler, and

d. water;

e. wherein the at least one hydrocolloid comprises carrageenan present in an amount of 10-20% based on the total weight of the preprocess mixture, and chitosan present in an amount of 10-20% based on the total weight of the preprocess mixture, wherein the plasticizer is a glycerol present in an amount of 5-20% based on the total weight of the preprocess mixture, wherein the filler is a CaCO₃present in an amount of 5-20% based on the total weight of the preprocess mixture, and wherein the article or the pellet is obtained from a hot-melt extrusion of the pre-process mixture.
