1. A method of rinsing resin using a diffusion-shifted displacement final rinse process, the method comprising:
adding a first volume of deionized water to resin;
soaking the resin in the first volume of deionized water for a first time period;
displacing the first volume of deionized water from the resin after the first time period;
adding a second volume of deionized water to the resin after the first volume of deionized water has been displaced;
soaking the resin in the second volume of deionized water for a second time period; and
performing one or more additional soaks with fresh deionized water until a contaminant level of the resin reaches a pre-determined final rinse end-point.
