1. A method for determining a current hydration status of a user, comprising:
(a) acquiring a signal from a wearable sensor, where the sensor is configured to detect changes in blood volume in a measurement region of the user, where the changes are indicative of opening and closing of the user's aortic valve, while the user is in one or more distinct postures;
b) providing an analysis system to determine from the signal (1) an ejection time from an aortic valve opening until a subsequent aortic valve closing and (2) an interbeat interval from an aortic valve opening until a subsequent aortic valve opening;
(c) providing a hydration determination model configured to determine a hydration status of the user from one or more ejection times and one or more interbeat intervals;
(d) using the hydration determination model to determine the current hydration status of the user;
(e) communicating the current hydration status to the user.
