1. A method for performing a Random Access Channel (RACH) procedure in a non-terrestrial network, the method comprising:
receiving, in a first subframe, a first message from a satellite base station, the first message including a time-frequency resource for uplink transmission and a timing advance value;
applying a timing advance according to the received timing advance value prior to transmitting a second message; and
transmitting, in the time-frequency resource, the second message to the satellite base station in a time slot of a second subframe that occurs after the timing advance, wherein the second subframe occurs after the first subframe and is separated from the first subframe by a sum of the received timing advance value and an additional value.
