determining, by the UE, a first traffic descriptor to be excluded from application of rules that specify route selection for the outgoing traffic;
receiving, from the CN, a set of rules specifying the route selection including:
a first rule referencing the first traffic descriptor and not referencing a second traffic descriptor, and
a second rule referencing the first traffic descriptor and the second traffic descriptor; and
preventing, by the UE, use of the first traffic descriptor for application of the first rule and the second rule.
