1. A method of dynamic beam pattern switching based on device type, the method comprising:
receiving, from a plurality of user devices, a device type indication corresponding to each device of the plurality of user devices wherein a set of signals transmitted to the plurality of user devices has a first broadcast beam pattern;
determining, based on the device type indication, that at least one of the plurality of user devices is a relay; and
in response to the determination, modifying one or more transmission characteristics of the first broadcast beam pattern to transmit a second set of signals having a second broadcast beam pattern, wherein one of the first or the second broadcast beam pattern comprises a sector beam and wherein the first broadcast beam pattern is different than the second broadcast beam pattern.
