1. An imaging system comprising:
an imaging device; and
one or more processors operatively coupled to the imaging device, the one or more processors to:
determine a contrast distribution for an image generated using the imaging device;
calculate a contrast signal to noise ratio (CSNR) based at least on a mean value and a standard deviation value of the contrast distribution;
calculate, based at least on the CSNR, a value representative of a capability of the imaging device to detect contrast;
determine whether the value satisfies an adjustment criterion; and
adjust one or more settings of the imaging system responsive to determining that the value satisfies the adjustment criterion.
