1. A system, comprising:
a processor; and
a memory operatively connected to the processor, the memory including instructions that when executed, cause the processor to:
receive, from a network device, a request for a user role configuration for a user device associated with the network device, wherein the request is received after the network device authenticates the user device, and after the user device is placed in a blocked state;
authenticate the request for the user role configuration;
reply, upon authentication, to the requesting network device with the requested user role configuration; and
distribute the user role configuration to another network device neighboring the requesting network device, the other device being identified as a neighbor by virtue of an ability of the network device to decode transmissions intended for the other network device,
wherein the user device is placed in an unblocked state based on the reply with the requested user role configuration.
