1. A base station configured for operation in a multiple transmission and reception point (multi-TRP) wireless network, the base station comprising:
radio front end circuitry; and
processor circuitry, coupled to the radio front end circuitry, configured to cause the base station to:
configure a transmission configuration indication (TCI) state to demodulation reference signal (DMRS) ports group mapping for a user equipment (UE) wherein the TCI state to DMRS ports group mapping associates a list of TCI states respectively to one or more DMRS ports groups;
transmit, to the UE using the radio front end circuitry, a control signal indicating a first TCI state and a second TCI state selected from the list of TCI states; and
transmit, to the UE, physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and associated DMRS transmissions scheduled by the control signal and based on at least one of the first TCI state or the second TCI state and on the TCI state to DMRS ports group mapping.
