1. An effects device connected to a guitar with a plurality of strings comprising:
a digital signal processor; and
an analog digital converter connected to the digital signal processor, wherein the digital signal processor configured to:
input a musical sound signal of the strings of the guitar generated by guitar playing converted by the analog digital converter;
detect a level of the musical sound signal input by the digital signal processor for each of multiple frequency bands;
extract a frequency characteristic of the musical sound signal based on the level of the musical sound signal detected by the digital signal processor;
add a predetermined sound effect only to a lowest frequency band of the musical sound signal based on the frequency characteristic of the musical sound signal extracted by the digital signal processor; and
calculate, for each multiple frequency bands, a total of the level, which are detected by the digital signal processor, of frequency bands lower than the frequency band,
wherein the digital signal processor is configured to extract a frequency characteristic of the musical sound signal according to a frequency band for which the total is smaller than a predetermined value among the totals for each frequency band calculated by the digital signal processor based on the level of the musical sound signal detected by the digital signal processor.
