1. A computer-implemented method, comprising:
receiving, by a first antenna, energy via a cable coupled with a second antenna, wherein the second antenna generates the energy in response to detecting a magnetic field;
energizing, by the first antenna, a third antenna with the energy received from the second antenna, the third antenna to provide power to one or more components of a smart access control device; and
receiving, by the smart access control device, authentication information when powered by the third antenna.
