1. An information handling system comprising:
a housing having a main portion rotationally coupled to a lid portion by a hinge;
a processor disposed in the housing and operable to execute instructions that process information;
a memory disposed in the housing and interfaced with the processor, the memory operable to store the instructions and information;
a display coupled to the housing lid portion and interfaced with the processor, the display operable to present the information as visual images;
a keyboard coupled to the housing main portion, the keyboard having plural mechanical keys to accept end user inputs;
a touch function row coupled to the housing main portion between the display and the keyboard to accept touch inputs with capacitive touch detection; and
a non-transitory memory interfaced with the processor and storing instructions that when executed cause:
detection of sliding movement of a touch at the touch function row; and
in response to the sliding movement, presentation at the display of a function on-screen-display user interface having plural function input key values, one of the plural functions corresponding to a touch location of the sliding movement presented as highlighted.
