1. A method for providing customized searches, the method comprising:
storing information regarding different locations within a content storage architecture, wherein each location is associated with a query limitation and one or more custom search parameters;
generating a graphical user interface for display at a user device for a user accessing a search application over a communication network, wherein the graphical user interface includes one or more graphical control elements corresponding to the different locations within the content storage architecture;
receiving search input associated with one of the graphical control elements within the graphical user interface;
identifying the location that corresponds to the graphical control element;
automatically modifying the received search input based on the custom search parameters associated with the identified location upon determining that the received search input fails to satisfy the query limitation associated with the identified location; and
performing a customized search at the identified location based on the modified search input, wherein performing the customized search includes updating the graphical user interface.
