1. An electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) system, comprising:
an electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) housing;
a charging cord assembly connected to the EVSE housing and including a cable that includes an outer sheath and a lighting module including a lighting ring that is circumscribed by the outer sheath along an entire length of the cable; and
a controller programmed to command the lighting module to emit a lighting effect that provides a visual indication of an electrified vehicle charging status.
