1. A method for forming a fabric-rubber composite having a tacky finish comprising the steps of:
a) providing at least one layer of fabric, wherein the fabric is woven, knitted, nonwoven, or combinations thereof;
b) applying a first layer of a resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex composition to at least one surface of the fabric to form a coated fabric;
c) heating and/or curing the coated fabric to form a fabric-rubber composite;
d) applying a second layer of a tacky finish to at least one surface of the fabric-rubber composite, wherein said tacky finish comprises:
(i) at least one tacky resin;
(ii) at least one unvulcanized rubber; and
(iii) at least one adhesion promoter, wherein the adhesion promoter is resorcinol-formaldehyde resin; and
(e) attaching the fabric-rubber composite to a tire carcass.
