1. A composition comprising:
(a) a retinoic acid precursor selected from retinyl propionate, hydroxyanasatil retinoate, and mixtures thereof; and
(b) a skin benefit agent selected from 4-ethyl resorcinol, 4-butyl resorcinol, 4-hexyl resorcinol, 4-isopropyl resorcinol and mixtures thereof; and
(c) at least one humectant,
wherein the retinoic acid precursor and the skin benefit agent are present at a weight ratio of from about 1:2 to about 2:1; and
wherein the pH is from 4 to 8.
 
12. A method for impeding oxidation comprising a step of topically applying to skin the composition of claim 1.
