1. A base plate for an ostomy appliance, the base plate comprising:
a first adhesive layer with a proximal side configured for attachment of the base plate to the skin surface of a user, the first adhesive layer having a stomal opening with a center point; and
a plurality of electrodes arranged on a distal side of the first adhesive layer, the plurality of electrodes comprising:
a first electrode arranged at least in part in a first region of the base plate;
a second electrode arranged at least in part in a second region of the base plate; and
a common electrode, comprising:
a first part arranged in the first region that cooperates with a first sensing part of the first electrode in the first region to form a first leakage sensor between the first part of the common electrode and the first sensing part of the first electrode; and
a second part arranged in the second region that cooperates with a second sensing part of the second electrode in the second region to form a second leakage sensor between the second part of the common electrode and the second sensing part of the second electrode.
