1. A method of forming a bioactive suture anchor, comprising the steps of:
applying a polymer solution on a filamentary structure;
applying synthetic bone graft particles over the filamentary structure;
removing a solvent from the polymer solution to form a polymer layer coating a surface of the filamentary structure;
wherein the synthetic bone graft particles applying step applies the bone graft particles to the polymer solution after the polymer solution is applied on the filamentary structure;
wherein, after the removing step, at least some of the synthetic bone graft particles extend from the polymer layer and are thereby at least partially exposed,
wherein at least some of the bone graft particles are disposed between fibers of the filamentary structure after the synthetic bone graft particles applying step,
wherein the bioactive suture anchor includes the filamentary structure and a filament extending through the filamentary structure, and
wherein the polymer layer has a thickness that is less than at least some of the synthetic bone graft particles.
