1. A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a communication system, the method comprising:
receiving, from a base station, configuration information of a dormant bandwidth part (BWP) for a secondary cell (SCell); and
receiving, from the base station, downlink control information (DCI), wherein a frequency domain resource assignment field, a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) field, a new data indicator (NDI) field, a redundancy version (RV) field, a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process number field, an antenna port field, and a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) sequence initialization field are included in the DCI: and
considering the DCI as an indication of SCell dormancy, in case that a resource allocation type corresponds to type 1 and all bits of the frequency domain resource assignment field are equal to 1,
wherein a sequence of the MCS field, the NDI field, the RV field, the HARQ process number field, the antenna port field, and the DMRS sequence initialization field is interpreted as providing a bitmap to each configured SCell,
wherein a bit of the bitmap corresponds to an SCell, and
wherein a 0 value for the bit of the bitmap indicates the dormant BWP for the SCell.
