1. A method, comprising:
receiving, by a processor, a video stream from a camera that captures a physical view;
receiving, by the processor, information that identifies a zone within the video stream that comprises a subset of the physical view;
detecting, by the processor, a motion within the physical view;
detecting, by the processor, a first portion of an object of interest within the physical view;
determining, by the processor, that the motion within the physical view corresponds to the object of interest within the physical view;
determining, by the processor, that a second portion of the object of interest intersects with the zone;
in response to determining that the second portion of the object of interest intersects with the zone:
storing, by the processor, a subset of the video stream that corresponds to the object of interest; and
transmitting, by the processor, a first notification to a user device that identifies the subset of the video stream;
detecting, by the processor, a first portion of a second object within the physical view;
determining that the second object is not an object of interest; and
suppressing, in response to determining that the second object is not an object of interest, a second notification to the user device.
