1. A modular diaphragm pump for use with a reciprocating power unit on which the modular diaphragm pump can be mounted and dismounted, the modular diaphragm pump comprising:
a diaphragm;
a drive rod;
a housing, the housing comprising a first cover, a second cover connected to the first cover, and a neck projecting from the first cover, the diaphragm located within the housing between the first cover and the second cover, the drive rod connected to the diaphragm such that the diaphragm is moved by the drive rod, the housing and the diaphragm forming a first chamber and a second chamber, the first chamber formed in part by a first side of the diaphragm and the second chamber formed in part by a second side of the diaphragm, the diaphragm configured to be moved via the drive rod to expand and contract the volume of the first chamber to pump fluid through the first chamber, wherein each of the first cover, the second cover, and the diaphragm are wider than the neck, and wherein the drive rod extends entirely through the neck and into the second chamber;
an inlet port and a first check valve, the inlet port in fluid communication with the first chamber through the first check valve, both of the inlet port and the first check valve supported by the housing;
an outlet port and a second check valve, the outlet port in fluid communication with the first chamber through the second check valve, both of the outlet port and the second check valve supported by the housing;
a coupling that mounts the module diaphragm pump to the reciprocating power unit, the coupling formed by the neck and a head on the drive rod, the neck configured to make a static connection with the reciprocating power unit that fixes the housing with respect to the reciprocating power unit, the head configured to make a dynamic connection with the reciprocating power unit such that the reciprocating power unit can move the diaphragm relative to the housing by moving the drive rod,
wherein the coupling is configured to allow the modular diaphragm pump to be dismounted from the reciprocating power unit by disengaging the static connection and the dynamic connection.
