1. A system for displaying images, comprising:
a computing system having one or more processors coupled with memory, configured to:
display a plurality of expression images in sequence to a subject, the plurality of expression images comprised of subsets of N expression images, each expression image of the plurality of expression images: (a) independently associated with a respective expression of a plurality of expressions and (b) configured to induce an amygdala activation in the subject;
receive, responsive to completion of each subset of N expression images in the plurality of expression images, a response from the subject to a query prompting whether a first expression image and a last expression image in the subset exhibits the same emotion;
determine a score for each subset of N expression images in the plurality of expression images based at least on the response to the query for the subset of N expression images; and
reset a value of N to a new value based at least on a plurality of scores determined for the subsets of N expression images of the plurality of expression images.
