1. A light-emitting diode (LED) emitter module controller, comprising:
LED control circuitry to, for each of a plurality of LED emitter chains:
receive a measured operating parameter of the respective LED emitter chain;
receive an output parameter of the respective LED emitter chain from a detector;
determine whether a difference between the measured operating parameter and the output parameter is at or above a threshold value; and
responsive to the determination that the difference equals or exceeds the threshold value:
increment a counter;
determine whether the counter equals a bad count threshold value; and
responsive to the determination that the counter is less than the bad count threshold value:
control the respective LED emitter chain using the received output parameter; and
determine whether the respective LED emitter chain is in a NORMAL operating mode or an INTERIM operating mode:
 responsive to the determination the respective LED emitter chain is in the NORMAL operating mode, transition the respective LED emitter chain to the INTERIM operating mode.
