1. One or more non-transitory, computer-readable media (NTCRM) having instructions that, when executed, cause processing circuitry to:
operate in a first mode that is a periodic partial sensing mode;
switch, based on detection of a resource selection trigger in a slot, from the first mode to a second mode that is a full-sensing mode;
sense, within a sensing window that starts a period of time after the slot, subchannels of a sidelink resource pool in the full-sensing mode to obtain results; and
select, based on the results, sidelink transmission resources for transmission of sidelink data.
