1. A system comprising:
one or more processing devices; and
memory communicatively coupled with and readable by the one or more processing devices and having stored therein processor-readable instructions which, when executed by the one or more processing devices, cause the one or more processing devices to perform operations comprising:
causing transmitting of a first electronic communication on one or more channels of a plurality of different channels, where the first electronic communication is transmitted in a first time slot of a time interval;
processing a second electronic communication from a sensor device, where the second electronic communication is received in a second time slot of the time interval;
selecting a third time slot of the time interval based at least in part on a temporal distance of the third time slot from one or more other time slots assigned to one or more other sensor devices so that the third time slot is not adjacent to the one or more other time slots;
causing transmitting of a third electronic communication to the sensor device in response to the second electronic communication, the third electronic communication:
transmitted in a fourth time slot of the time interval; and
comprising an indication of an assignment of the third time slot of the time interval to the sensor device; and
processing one or more transmissions from the sensor device in one or more subsequent instances of the third time slot of the time interval.
