1. An integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node configured for multi-access edge computing (MEC), comprising:
a distributed unit (DU), comprising:
a local application instance of an MEC-enabled application, the local application instance configured for communication with a first user equipment (UE) connected to the IAB node and an external instance of the MEC-enabled application residing beyond a core network for the IAB node; and
a mobile termination functionality (MT), comprising:
a first packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer configured to transport first data of the local application instance between the MT and an IAB donor.
