1. A method comprising:
displaying, by a display screen of a camera of a mobile device, a preview of an image, wherein the display screen is configured to adjust a display brightness;
determining, based on sensor data from an ambient light sensor of the mobile device, whether a flickering of ambient light is caused at least in part by one or more light sources in a surrounding environment of the ambient light sensor; and
based on the determining, adjusting a rate at which exposure adjustments are made for the camera.
