1. A method for decoding a video sequence, wherein a low frequency non-separable transform (LFNST) mode is supported, the method comprising:
receiving input data related to a current coding unit (CU) in a current picture, wherein the current CU is partitioned into one or more transform blocks (TBs) and the input data corresponds to coded data of the current CU;
checking one or more Coded Block Flag (CBF) indications for one or more target TBs based on the coded data;
parsing an LFNST syntax when one or more conditions are satisfied, wherein the LFNST syntax indicates whether the LFNST mode is applied to the current CU and/or which LFNST kernel is applied when the LFNST mode is applied, and said one or more conditions comprise said one or more CBF indications for said one or more target TBs being false; and
decoding the current CU according to the LFNST mode as indicated by the LFNST syntax.
