1. An electronic device comprising:
a communication circuit;
one or more processors; and
memory storing one or more programs,
wherein the one or more programs are configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for:
determining a lifetime of a shared secret key which is a pairwise master key (PMK) based on first lifetime information corresponding to a first lifetime of the shared secret key and second lifetime information corresponding to a second lifetime of the shared secret key, wherein the first lifetime of the shared secret key is generated by the electronic device and the second lifetime of the shared secret key is generated by an access point (AP),
controlling the electronic device to perform wireless communication with the access point, based on the shared secret key,
controlling the communication circuit to transmit, to the AP, a renewal frame for renewing the shared secret key using a security protocol, at a time point at which thea lifetime of the shared secret key expires or a time point a specified time ahead of the time point at which the lifetime of the shared secret key expires,
renewing the shared secret key by performing an authentication and association procedure with the AP, and
controlling the electronic device to perform wireless communication with the AP, based on the renewed shared secret key.
