1. An electric load control device, comprising:
controllably conductive device reversibly transitionable between an electrically conductive state and an electrically non-conductive state, the controllably conductive device having a hot voltage input and a switched hot voltage output;
a first edge detect circuit series connected with a first switching circuit coupled between the switched hot voltage output from the controllably conductive device and one of: a neutral conductor or a ground conductor;
a second edge detect circuit series connected with a second switching circuit coupled between the hot voltage input to the controllably conductive device and one of: the neutral conductor or the ground conductor; and
a control circuit operatively coupled to the controllably conductive device, the first switching circuit and the second switching circuit, the control circuit to, upon start-up of the electrical load control device:
detect the hot voltage connection and switched hot voltage connection to the controllably conductive device;
determine a controllably conductive device open response time using the controllably conductive device, the first edge detect circuit, and the first edge detection circuit; and
determine a controllably conductive device close response time using the controllably conductive device, the first edge detect circuit, and the first edge detection circuit.
