1. An encoding apparatus comprising:
encoding circuitry configured to encode tactile signals from different regions of a human body, the encoding circuitry being configured to:
encode a first tactile signal from a first region of the human body using a first sampling frequency and a first quantization bit length;
encode a second tactile signal from a second region of the human body using a second sampling frequency and a second quantization bit length; and
combine the encoded first and second tactile signals into a data stream for transmission, wherein at least one of the first sampling frequency and the first quantization bit length is different from the respective second sampling frequency and second quantization bit length.
