1. A method of locating one or more users in an emergency, comprising the steps of, at a server:
detecting a state of emergency; and
receiving a user-defined geo-fenced area from at least one computing device associated with a user, wherein the user-defined geo-fenced area is defined by a user of the at least one computing device associated with the user;
determining whether the state of emergency relates to the user-defined geo-fenced area; and
upon determining that the state of emergency relates to the user-defined geo-fenced area;
receiving location data relating to the user-defined geo-fenced area from a member of a group consisting of:
the at least one computing device associated with the user, and
another at least one computing device associated with another user;
selectively transmitting, to at least one member of the group:
the location data; and
mapping data relating to the user-defined geo-fenced area, wherein the mapping data further relates to the interior of at least one building, and
causing the location data, in combination with the mapping data, to be presented on a display interface of the at least one member of the group.
