1. A system comprising:
an electronic gaming machine comprising:
a housing including a door;
a security sensor supported by the housing;
an input device supported by the housing and configured to receive an input to purchase a lottery ticket;
a display device supported by the housing and configured to display a notification of the purchase of the lottery ticket responsive to a completion of a purchase of the lottery ticket;
a slot accounting system port; and
a processor programmed to, responsive to a detection, via the security sensor, of an opening of the door, cause data associated with the opening of the door to be stored, and disable any receipt of any inputs to purchase any lottery tickets until an operator intervention event occurs;
a slot machine interface board supported by the housing of the electronic gaming machine and in communication with a gaming establishment player tracking server; and
a device comprising a communication interface having a first slot accounting system protocol interface connected to the slot accounting system port of the electronic gaming machine and a second slot accounting system protocol interface connected to the slot machine interface board, and
responsive to a receipt, from a remote server, of data associated with the completion of the purchase of the lottery ticket, the device is programmed to:
communicate, to the slot machine interface board and via the second slot accounting system protocol interface data which results in the player tracking server storing data of the purchased lottery ticket in association with a gaming establishment player tracking account of an identified user.
