1. A skin patch for detecting patient compliance with a pharmaceutical treatment protocol for a specific pharmaceutical comprising:
a printable blockchain optical sensor unit comprising: at least one optical sensor, a first plurality of permanent reference colors, an identification code, a central hole, an orientation reference and an adhesive configured to removably secure said patch to a skin of a person;
wherein said optical sensor is configured to measure an application by the person of the specific pharmaceutical inside the central hole; and
wherein an output from said optical sensor unit is configured to be uploaded to a blockchain network by a wireless reader.
