1. A smart card reader system comprising:
a card reader cavity, comprising:
a rod with a roller in a home position that seals the card reader cavity;
a secure card reader (SCR) holder bonded to a printed circuit board (PCB), wherein the PCB comprises an SCR spring contact connector;
wherein the card reader cavity is configured to receive a smart card including an integrated circuit (IC), wherein the IC is coupled to the SCR spring contact connector, wherein the receiving comprises a motion of the rod from the home position, wherein the motion is constrained by parallel guide slots of parallel guide plates, wherein the parallel guide slots are straight, and wherein a retraction angle, θ, comprises an angle between a retraction direction and a direction of an insertion of the smart card; and
a processor coupled to the SCR spring contact connector, wherein the processor is configured to:
receive an input regarding a transaction using data of the smart card; and
based on the input, execute the transaction.
