1. An application optimization method of an electronic device, the method comprising:
determining whether a condition that is set with respect to a duration of an idle state of the electronic device is satisfied;
selecting an application for which application optimization is to be performed based on an application usage record of the electronic device, in response to the condition being satisfied; and
generating an optimized application by performing the application optimization in a background for the selected application,
wherein the selecting comprises:
assigning a priority to each of candidate applications based on the application usage record, in response to the condition being satisfied; and
selecting a candidate application having a highest priority from among the candidate applications as the application for which the application optimization is to be performed.
