1. A method of providing persistent storage to transient cloud computing services, the method comprising:
storing, in non-volatile storage in an on-premises storage system, operational state data for restoring a cloud computing instance that executes an application; and
based on a determination that the cloud computing instance is unavailable, creating a new cloud computing instance, using the operational state data stored in the non-volatile storage in the on-premises storage system, configured to execute the application.
