1. A method of managing power consumption of one or more Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) cloud (O-Cloud) nodes within an O-Cloud infrastructure of a telecommunications network, the method performed by at least one processor and comprising:
obtaining, by a federated O-Cloud orchestration and management module (FOCOM) within a service management orchestration (SMO) framework of the ORAN, a request to modify a P-state of a central processing unit (CPU) of an O-Cloud node within the O-Cloud infrastructure of the telecommunications network;
sending, by the FOCOM, a request to modify the P-state of the CPU of the O-Cloud node via an O2 interface to an infrastructure management service module (IMS) of the O-RAN;
receiving, by the IMS via the O2 interface, the request to modify the P-state of the CPU of the O-Cloud node;
controlling, by the IMS, implementation of the request to modify the P-state of the CPU of the O-Cloud node; and
sending, by the IMS to the FOCOM via the O2 interface, a confirmation of the P-state modification of the CPU of the O-Cloud node.
