1. A spectrometer comprising:
a spectrum measurement unit;
a peak counting unit; and
a display processing unit,
wherein a spectrum is repeatedly measured by the spectrum measurement unit over a predetermined wavelength range for measurement target light that is laser light,
wherein every time a spectrum is obtained by the spectrum measurement unit, a peak is detected from the spectrum by the peak counting unit and a number of detected peaks is counted by the peak counting unit to obtain the number of the detected peaks corresponding to a number of longitudinal modes, and
wherein a numerical value of a peak counting result by the peak counting unit is displayed on a screen of a display unit in real time by the display processing unit.
