1. A composite sensor assembly for a bioprocess vessel, the composite sensor assembly comprising:
a port comprising a high surface tension thermoplastic having a base plate and the base plate fused to a wall of the bioprocess vessel so that the port communicates with an opening in the wall;
a sensor assembly attached to the port such that at least a sidewall of the sensor assembly encircles the opening in the wall of the bioprocess vessel and a floor of the sensor assembly configured to couple to one or more measurement components.
