1. A bioproduction facility, comprising:
(a) an initial inoculum growth reactor, and
(b) a variable diameter bioreactor, wherein the variable diameter bioreactor is in fluid communication with the initial inoculum growth reactor,
wherein the variable diameter bioreactor comprises a conical section that defines an interior conical space, wherein the interior conical space can be partially or fully filled with a cell culture that is grown in the variable diameter bioreactor,
and wherein the variable diameter bioreactor functions as a seed stage reactor train.
