1. A process of recovering lithium from a brine, said process comprising the steps of:
a. producing a lithium-rich solution from said brine by sequentially circulating said brine through a plurality of process zones of a rotating or indexing manifold valve system, said brine comprising lithium, said manifold valve system comprising a plurality of ion exchange beds or columns containing a lithium selective adsorbent or resin; and
b. recovering lithium chloride, lithium hydroxide, lithium carbonate, or a combination thereof from said lithium-rich solution using an eluant solution comprising lithium chloride and water.
