1. A filtration container assembly, comprising:
an outer container having a first open end and a second closed end and an inner wall extending between the first open end and the second closed end, the outer container defining an inner cavity;
a plunging assembly having a longitudinal axis and being configured to be received at least partially within the inner cavity of the outer container, wherein the plunging assembly includes:
an inner sleeve having a first end and a second end, an outer wall extending between at least a portion of the first end and the second end, and an inner bore;
a filtration assembly including a housing and a filter media disposed within the housing, the filtration assembly in fluid communication with the inner bore, wherein the housing includes an outer wall extending between a first end and a second end, the outer wall including a plurality of apertures configured for allowing a liquid to flow radially through the outer wall into the housing, through the filter media, and into the inner bore;
an annular groove disposed between the first end of the inner sleeve and the plurality of apertures of the filtration assembly; and
a sealing device disposed within the annular groove and configured for forming a seal between the inner wall of the outer container and the plunging assembly, wherein a gap is formed between at least a portion of the housing of the filtration assembly and the inner wall of the outer container when the plunging assembly is received within the outer container, wherein the gap is positioned between the sealing device and the second end of the housing of the filtration assembly, and wherein the plunging assembly is configured to filter the liquid as the liquid moves from the inner cavity of the outer container through the filtration assembly to the inner bore of the plunging assembly.
